Beyond Enemy Lines

Description

As the Meekrob guided Dib through the main entrance, he immediately took the opportunity to drink in his surroundings. The differences between Irken architecture and Meekrobian arcitecture, as well as human arcitecture, were strikingly different. The entire building seemed to be a work of geometric art, using mainly circles, hexagons, and hectogons to design. As opposed to the darker and gritter combo of purples and reds which the Irkens used, the Meekrobs clearly preferred a mix of light blues, greens, and turquoise. Of course the color scheme would be the obvious choice, given the colors of the Meekrobs ghostly skin, as well as Dib's new attire. Honestly it was uncomfortable, tight around the neck, and HOT, but he still liked the design. His favorite part must have been the Irken insignia stitched on his chest and the back of his cape, with one big and bold X placed right on top of it. The Meekrob hated the Irkens just as much as he did!

The Meekrob who had been guiding him remained utterly quiet as they passed through several entrances and hallways. As they neared their destination, a rather pungent smell began to waver toward him. He bit his tongue on the subject, until the fetid odor forced him to pinch his nostrils and wave a hand in front of his face. "What's that smell?" Dib gagged through pinched nostrils, though the Meekrob beside him didn't seem to notice. In fact, the Meekrob almost looked proud. "That would be the fresh stench of new soldiers," The Meekrob finally spoke up, bearing a pleased expression and seemingly taking in the fumes itself. When they turned the corner, the smell had hit him like a brick wall, but Dib was too busy drinking in the sights to notice the stench. The ceiling must have reached as high as a skyscraper, with each of the walls caked with Meekrobian nests. Though there must have been thousands of hexagon-shaped cells, only a couple where being used. However, the ceiling hosted the largest nest of all- covering nearly every inch of the gigantic space with one massive nest. Dib couldn't see the individual cells, or whether or not they were in use, from his minuscule perspective down below. The cells which WERE in use housed infant Meekrob in various stages of development, from pupae to larva to egg. The smell was apparently coming from these nests, which dripped with a yellowish-brown excretion.

"And HERE," the Meekrob shook him out of his daze, "is where we will be serving you." The alien looked up to a screen directly in front of them, which displayed an awe-struck Dib staring back on the big screen.

Tried to color it, but quickly gave up. I may or may not make a more dedicated effort later. This scene is based off of the bigger concept for the final IZ episode, Invader Dib (intended to eventually air but never did.) I've gotten more interested in the Meekrob lately, and decided to draw this. Dib has since dressed himself in Meekrob attire (With the main colors being light blue and blueish green/turquoise. He has an awesome cape with frills along the sides representing the Meekrob 'tentacles', with a collar and wrist bands. On the back of his cape and front of his shirt is the Irken insignia, dashed out with an X. Neat, wouldn't you say?

I actually really (secretly) like meekrob. they are really underappreciated. they even have a core thing involving the resisty and with the war against the irken empire! I really love those small beings of pure energy that can shapeshift into anything *v*

I actually have a meekrob oc //shot
